It’s More Than Just Paperwork
When we’re designing lamps for the global market, CE forces us to actually prove the thing is safe. We’re talking about electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Think about high-voltage quartz tubes. They get hot. Really hot. We have to make sure the insulation doesn’t give up under that thermal stress and start leaking current. We run dielectric strength tests because nobody wants a tube to short out just because the factory floor is a bit humid. If you skip this, you’re playing with fire—literally. You risk electrical fires or, at the very least, your lamp messing with other sensors on the line. Most serious buyers won’t even open your data sheet if they don’t see that CE mark.
Getting Into the Right Markets

For us, staying compliant means our whole process gets audited. It’s how we make sure the quartz purity and the electrode seals are the same on the first lamp as they are on the ten-thousandth. Without it, you’re stuck fighting for scraps in low-margin regions where people only care about the lowest price, not whether the product is safe.
